Prototyping

It all starts with an idea. The prototyping stage is a crucial step in the design process of a product.

In this phase, various iterations of an idea take place in order to perfect the final product the market will be using.

SolidWorks 3D modeling capabilities allow it to iterate a design without additional prototyping expenses. You get all the prototypes needed.

 

3D Models

3D models are pivotal in conveying an idea to someone else. CAD models are also used by manufacturers as final production blueprint guidelines.

It is important to understand that there are stages of a 3D CAD model. Initially, a rudimentary model is created with enough complexity to convey an idea to another person.

This 3D CAD is then polished, and refined with detailed specifications for a manufacturer to follow.

CAD Drafting

Computer-aided drafting takes a 3D model and converts it into a packet of 2D drawings. These drawings contain specific detailed instructions for assembly, material properties, and dimension specifications that a manufacturer has to follow.

Unfortunately, there is no program that can automatically convert a 3D model into 2D drawings. Meave Consulting has industry experience working with 2D models that are clearly understood by any manufacturer.

 

Renderings & Animations

Once a 3D model has been created any simulation is possible. A CAD model can be animated to observe how it will perform in the real world.

Renderings of a 3D model can be made to change the aesthetics. Images and video animations created are used to market the product.
